LABEL GOURMET Is a new approach to the art of the butcher’s shop in Portugal, a delight for all the “Gormandizer Gourmets”
The originator, João Pedro Barão, is a specialist in meet preparation mainly intended for particulars, in other words for real good food enthusiasts.
A Frenchman of Portuguese origin, skilled for the high expectancies of the French culinary reality, he qualified at the “École de la Boucherie de Paris”
It was as an artisan that he decided to surrender his professionalism to serve customers expecting quality.
The 25 years of experience at very high level in France, the country of the taste, brought him an irrepressible professional experience and a recognized legitimacy among equals and customers as well.
LABEL GOURMET deserves well the appellation. Located in the hearth of the “Mercado Municipal de Loulé” – Loulé’s Municipal Market, one of the most picturesque and visited places in the Algarve, a site that helped the city in getting the prestidigitate “Tourism Price of Portugal” in 2008.
An authentic space of Moresque architecture, a genuine vitrine of countless local products, the market is nowadays an unavoidable place for the fine “Gourmets”..
Independently if they reside in the Algarve or if they are just travelling by, the epicureans will take advantage of a stop here.
By the time he arrived here in year 2000, João Pedro Barão raised interest of various companies’ administrators that were responsive to his artisan skills and professional meticulousness. Invited to join their teams, he managed to bring new dynamics to the butcher’s shops in developing inedited working methods.
First in Faro and then in Almancil, at the Butcher’s shop section of the “APOLONIA” Supermarkets, he established a sector of “Marinated Meet” with countless specialties available
João Pedro Barão won the heart of a wide customers’ group that became faithful to his services. This brought him naturally to create his own company.
Nowadays, in syntonic alliance with his wife Teresa, he presents in his establishment an innovative and diversified work, propositioning it to more demanding customers in search of new savors.
